UltraCoin mining info - Scrypt-Jane coin

solo mining UltraCoin info

i have the extra ip addresses for other mining rigs pointing to the same wallet for solo, if you are just running local you only need the loopback address 127.0.0.1

ultracoin.conf - if you add or change this file, you have to close and re-open the QT wallet

rpcuser="this has to be the same user name as in your miner .bat or conf file"
rpcpassword="anything as long as it matches in your miner"
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.1.131
rpcallowip=192.168.1.122
rpcallowip=192.168.1.136
rpcallowip=192.168.1.137
daemon=1
server=1
listen=1

ultracoinminer.exe from the website, it is a patched version of cgminer.exe that includes Scrypt-Jane support

i use command line parameters, you can put the same into a .conf just like cgminer

C:\ultracoin-miner\ultracoinminer -o 127.0.0.1:44101 -u <same as above> -p <same as above> --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 -Q 0 -E 1 -s 1 -I 15,17,16,17

also if you are connecting other rigs to a single wallet, don't forget to configure your firewall or turn it off for private networks or else the miners will be blocked

crypto exchanges

29 January, 2014

exchanges are places where you can trade one type of crypto coin for another, or for other things, like US dollars or EU Euro and others

i use this one

https://btc-e.com/ - it has a nice feature, a "chat" box, affectionately known to some users as "TrollBox", which is quite entertaining

fun fact, the "largest" bitcoin exchange https://www.mtgox.com/ started out as a web site to trade Magic The Gathering cards, the name, mtgox originally meant M=Magic T=The G=Gathering O=Online X=Exchange

my miner script, version 1.0

29 January, 2014

this is a windows/dos batch file i use to bring up a menu to select a coin/pool to mine, it makes it easier than editing text files all the time, or using different files

i have more work to do on it, but here is v.1.0

edit the first two lines with the intensity of your card(s) for both "Low" and "High" power

<password> is your worker name password, if you use different worker passwords for different pools, this won't work, you'll need to replace each %PASSWORD% with the correct password for each pool worker

<user> must be replaced with your worker name, if you are mining on a p2pool the <user> if your Wallet address for the coin, it CANNOT be an exchange address, it must be a wallet address for you to receive mined payouts

if you are a mining n00b, then these settings for cgminer.exe will get you started, but you'll want to add more tweaked settings/parameters to increase your production once you get things settled. i'll do a post on advanced settings for my R9 290 to illustrate

mining pools

29 January, 2014

some of the mining pools i currently use

https://coinotron.com - litecoin (ltc), feathercoin (ftc) and in the past i did some peercoin (ppc)

http://p2pool.org/ - p2pool is a cool decentralized pool, the best feature is that you don't have to register (which normally requires giving an email to the pool operator), i currently use p2pool for MegaCoin (mec) and occasionally a feathercoin (ftc) p2pool

https://www.shibepool.com - dogecoin (doge)

http://p2pool.neocities.org/ - this is a new but separate p2pool server, but there aren't enough people using it (at the time i write this) to make it work, looks like a nice fat server though

http://beta.beeeeer.org/ - primecoin (xpm) , a "cpu only" coin, if you have access to more than a few cpu's you can make a little extra coins

http://pool.maeh.org/ - litecoin (ltc) and feathercoin (ftc), a p2pool node run by a very helpful person, MrSheep on feathercoin forum

http://buf.snicter.com:9327/ and http://sea.snicter.com:9327/ - litecoin (ltc), a p2pool node run by Carnth on litecoin forum
